Installing it on GoDaddy
GoDaddy's Website Builder (Websites + Marketing) takes custom code through an HTML section that you add to a page, rather than through one site-wide box. That means the code lives on the page you add it to, so put it on the pages customers ask questions from.

- 1From your GoDaddy product page, expand Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site, then Edit Website.
- 2On the page you want the assistant on, choose Add Section, search for HTML, and add the HTML section.
- 3Paste the script into the section's Custom Code field and select Done.
- 4Repeat on any other page that should have it — your contact, FAQ and shop pages are the usual ones.
- 5Select Publish. Custom code runs on the published site, not reliably in the editor.
The thing that usually catches people out
GoDaddy renders an HTML section inside its own frame on the page, so the chat lives in that section rather than floating over the whole site — give the section enough height and place it where people will see it. GoDaddy's Settings only take a fixed list of tracking codes (Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and so on), not arbitrary scripts. If the chat loads but will not answer, email us and we will tell you which address to add to your bot's allowed sites.
It will not make things up about your shop
This is the part worth being careful about. An assistant that invents a 60-day return window has made a promise you have to keep. The Biggest Nerd answers from the material you gave it and nothing else — ask it something your pages do not cover and it says so, then points the customer at you.
Questions
Will it slow my GoDaddy shop down?
No. The script is loaded asynchronously and is a few kilobytes, so the page finishes rendering whether or not the assistant has loaded. If our service is unreachable the bubble simply does not appear, and nothing else on your shop changes.
Can it make up a policy I do not have?
It answers only from the pages and notes you give it. Ask it something they do not cover and it says so and points the customer to you, rather than guessing at what shops usually do. It also cannot see your orders, so it will never claim something has shipped.
Do I need a developer to install it on GoDaddy?
No. It is one line pasted into GoDaddy, in the place described above. If you can edit your theme or your site settings you can install it.
